In afara unor
expozitii in Bucuresti, Ion Birladeanu participa cu colajele sale la expozitia
COLLAGE, LONDON/NEW YORK a galeriilor
Fred din Londra, in perioada 6 august - 27 septembrie 2009.

What are the chances for a former reed cutter, docker, gravedigger, sawmill worker, watchman, unqualified construction worker or handyman at a block of flats on Mosilor Street to become a well-known artist at the age of 63? Probably most of you will say "None!" or "Few...".
Well, this is the true story of Ion Birladeanu who has nourished his passion for collage production out of the garbage thrown away by others. He carefully collected for some 30 years various images which he reconstructed in a series of interesting collages that he used to show only to "wise people".
The work of Ion Birladeanu was seen two years ago by Dan Popescu in a garbage bin room and, since then, the unknown artist started a new trajectory for his artistic life. In addition to
exhibitions in Bucharest, Ion Birladeanu takes part with his collage work in the
COLLAGE, LONDON/NEW YORK exhibition of
Fred Galleries in London during the period August 6 - September 27, 2009.
This true story makes me think that, eventually, everything we do with passion gets credited!
