Efectul Umbrei / The Shadow Effect

English version at the end of this post

"Umbra exista in fiecare dintre noi. Umbra noastra se manifesta in fiecare zi.

I discovered Debbie Ford several years ago and I am still fascinated by the change she brought first of all to her own life and, then, to the lives of so many people through the books she wrote and through the workshops she facilitates. And last night I watched again the documentary Debbie Ford produced together with Deepak Chopra and Marianne Williamson: "The Shadow Effect". And since the documentary is now online I thought to share it with you. It is a special movie and I invite you to watch it when you find one hour for yourselves.

I will not tell you too much about "The Shadow Effect" so that you have the pleasure of discovering it yourselves. Still, I will give you a short presentation of this documentary:

"The shadow exists within all of us. It is a part of us and yet we spend most of our life running from it. But far from being scary, our dark side holds the promise of a better, more fulfilling life. Our shadow makes itself known every day. It is the reason we get furious over a friend showing up ten minutes late, yell at our parents or kids when they have done nothing wrong, and sabotage our own success at the worst possible time. Until we are able to embrace our dualistic nature, we will continue to hurt ourselves and those closest to us and fall short of our potential."
